Terms of Service
By signing in or creating an account, you agree to these terms. They are deliberately short.
What Vault is
Vault is a free, web-based, manual-entry personal budget tracker. You add transactions yourself; the app does the math, draws the charts, and reminds you about recurring bills. Vault has no banking integration, no payment processing, and no premium tier — every feature is available on the same free account.
Service "as is"
Vault is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. The maintainer has worked to make the math correct and the data safe, but Vault is not a financial advisor, an accountant, or a substitute for either. You're responsible for the accuracy of the data you enter and for the financial decisions you make. Don't rely on Vault as the sole record for tax, audit, or legal purposes.
Acceptable use
Use Vault for tracking your own personal finances. Don't:
- Try to access another user's account or data.
- Probe the service for vulnerabilities without prior authorization.
- Submit content that's illegal, abusive, or that infringes someone else's rights.
- Use Vault to store information that, if disclosed, could harm a third party.
Your data, your control
Your account, your transactions, your decision. You can download your full data at any time and delete your account at any time without asking permission. See the Privacy Policy for the mechanics.
Account suspension or termination
The maintainer may suspend or terminate accounts that abuse the service or break these terms. If the maintainer terminates an account for cause, you'll be told why by email and given a reasonable window to export your data first.
Limitation of liability
To the extent allowed by law, the maintainer's liability for any claim arising from your use of Vault is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim — which, given that Vault is free, is zero.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec, Canada. Any dispute that can't be resolved by good-faith discussion is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Quebec.

Changes
If these terms change materially, the “Last updated” date at the top bumps. Continuing to use Vault after a change means you accept the new terms; if you disagree, you can export your data and close the account.
